La Casa Family Health Center has an integral pharmacy services program.  We fulfill our mission by providing the lowest cost medications to our patients in a variety of programs.

The first step in helping our patients is to utilize our 340B In-house Pharmacy.  This program is available to any La Casa patient regardless of income.  A formulary is available for the providers to utilize when prescribing for their patients.  The formulary contains low cost equivalents for many health conditions.  The patient is charged $4 per specific quantity of the medications.  The medications are ready within 24 - 48 hours.

The next step is to use medications from our Share the Care (Pfizer) or AZ&Me (Astra Zeneca) on-site replenishment program.  These medications are available to patients that are at 200% or below the poverty level (300% for AZ&Me) to be eligible to receive medications from these programs.  The formulary is made available to the providers.  This allows many brand name products for the patients for $4 per month.  The medications are ready within 24 – 48 hours.

Manufacturer Indigent Programs (MIP) and Patient Assistance Programs are the last steps, if we are unable to fill the medications on-site.  The patient will have to provide proof of income to qualify through the manufacturers.  The list of medications available is very extensive and includes most brand name medications.  After the patient and provider complete the application and proof of income received, the medication is ordered.  The medication arrives in 4 to 6 weeks.
