La Casa Behavioral Health is accepting applications for a full-time and part-time Family Peer Support Worker (FPSW). Bi-lingual helpful. Salary commensurate with experience. Great benefits package offered.
Certified Family Peer Support Worker: An individual who is a parent or primary caregiver who has lived experience of nurturing and raising a child/youth that has experienced emotional, behavioral, mental, and/or substance use challenges and diagnoses, learned to navigate the child/youth-serving systems and support services the child/youth needed to engage in, and found ways to advocate to have the child/youth's needs met.

Minimum Education/Experience/Qualifications
• Be at least 18 years of age or older
• Have a high school diploma or GED
• Must have been or is a parent or primary caregiver of a child or youth who:

  • has received a mental health diagnosis or developmental disability diagnosis with a co-occurring mental health diagnosis before the age of 18, and
  • has navigated child serving systems on behalf of their child. **Child serving systems include mental health services, special education, juvenile justice, or child protective services.
  • Ability to manage personal wellbeing
  • Must be able to clearly articulate their child’s disability and the services utilized

• Have a valid Driver’s License

Certification Requirements
• Certified as a Family Peer Support Worker in the State of New Mexico or ability to obtain certification (required)
